Sweet, Sweet Victory

Happy Sunday! Let me start first by saying that I am NOT a morning person. This morning however, my internal clock woke me up at 6am. For the last four months our baby girl was up every 2-3 hours to nurse, sometimes not falling asleep until after 3:30am. Just within the last two weeks we got a few 4-5 hour stretches that felt like a dream until last night when we got 7 hours! Thank the Lord for the much needed rest. I was able to have a little nearly nonexistent “me time” in my cozy Kindred jammies, fuzzy socks, throw in a load of laundry and even had time to put some makeup on.

What’s the secret?

My husband has to be the one to lay her down.

I start by nursing her out on the couch. I actually enjoy it because I am a night owl and enjoy watching my shows in peace. Then, when she is finished, hubby will come grab her and lay her down in the master bedroom and that’s where they sleep.

I’m content with this system for now as long as we all get some sleep but on the other hand I am thrilled about being able to work cuddles with hubs back into the nightly routine. Don’t get me wrong, I love snuggling with my baby girl but my big babe needs some love too!

One Happy Mama (and wife) right here.
