New Year Goals 2019

I like setting goals for myself. I don’t make myself sick trying to obtain them but I do enjoy having something to strive for or redirect my focus if need be.

Here are my goals for the new year…

1. Organize my photos

I have so many photos on my camera, phone and computer. I fear losing them so I need to organize and back them up so I can let go of that anxiety that’s always in the back of my mind.

2. Delve deeper into minimalism

About a year ago my husband and I decided to live a more minimalistic lifestyle. It’s an every day process but every single week we have boxes and bags full of things that we donate to people that need them.

3. Paint my kitchen and bedroom

I strongly dislike painting but I’d really like it to get done. I’m super into all white walls because I love how fresh and clean it makes our space feel. I think I’ll put it off until summer though so I can open the windows and get some fresh air up in here.

4. Go to bed by midnight

I’ve found myself staying up hours past Olive after she falls asleep. I wake up in the morning exhausted and I know it’s partly because I stay up so late. This one is going to be hard for me but I know it’s for the best.

5. Go on one date per month

I want to make my husband more of a priority. TJ is such a wonderful partner and has kindly taken a several steps out of the spotlight since the girls have been born. They’re my focus at most times and it’s only fair that I take one day out of the month to focus on him.

6. Pray with my family

I’d like to start praying with TJ. We’ve done it a few times before but I’d like to make it more of a “thing” as a husband and wife putting God in the center of our marriage. I also pray every night with my girls but it should be an all day kind of thing, a way of life.

7. Continue to say “no

I have been so good about saying no lately. I love the freeing feeling I get when I’m able to just say no to the things I don’t feel like doing. I have however been tiptoeing on eggshells around several people in my life. I am constantly feeling bad for my choices but that ends today. I will live my life how I want to live it and that’s that!

Do you have any goals for 2019? S in the comments!

  1. Honestly I need to declutter my whole house lol. After having a baby my life has been such a mess and I’m used to being on a routine 😭 But I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Another thing is I need to stop being so forgiving & get rid of all toxic people in my life so I can be happy.

I really like your date night thing! He works nights so I rarely get to spend time with him. And I really think date nights would do us good, considering when he finally gets up my attention is all on our kid & we rarely even eat dinner together.

    1. Hey we were there not long ago! It’s SO hard adjusting to a new little family member. Yes, you need to take care of yourself and rid your life of negativity. Sadly we are the same way, always running in opposite directions. I hope to spare 12 days for him this year haha.
